Lakeshore Division Lake Effect Club Beanie

The lake makes its own weather. When the wind comes across Lake Michigan in winter it picks up the water and drops it on LaPorte County as snow, sometimes feet of it while Chicago gets flurries. Out on the pier in Michigan City, the old elevated catwalk still runs to the light, built so the keepers could get out there when the waves were over the pier. The Lake Effect Club meets November to March. Membership is living here.
