Kankakee Marsh Mallards Tee
Before the ditches and the dredges, the Grand Kankakee Marsh covered something like half a million acres across northern Indiana, and people called it the Everglades of the North. Gun clubs lined the river, and the water was loud with mallards and teal every fall. The dredging that began in the 1880s was finished by 1917. The back print is our field badge for that marsh: three mallards over a setting sun, cattails in the shallows.
